Therapist based in Watford.
Life’s struggles can sometimes feel just too much to bear alone. Waking up, feeling o.k. for a few minutes then remembering the pain...has that happened to you? Loss can be very hard to deal with.
It doesn’t have to be that way. With my help, you can find your way back to peace again. In time, something better.
As an Integrative Counsellor, I blend therapeutic techniques to find what works for you. Although the past affects the present, I believe that you are the expert in your life and with the right conditions you will grow.
My practice in Watford is a safe space for you to share your troubles. I also offer an online service thus avoiding traffic and extra stress.
My clinical experience has mostly been working with those who are bereaved, but I have also helped those with psychosomatic issues, marital problems, domestic abuse and the challenges of being a carer. I have successfully mentored children and young people, especially those who are at risk of exclusion from school.
As I travel through my 50's I realise what a colourful life I have led so far! I have been a teacher for many, many years and run a successful tuition company - Star Tutors. I have a great deal of experience in working with SEN in the mainstream, including Autism and Dyslexia in particular. I trained at West Herts College and hold a Diploma in Integrative Therapeutic Counselling (CPCAB).
Art is one of my passions, and I encourage my clients to explore their creative side within our sessions. Creativity can be an excellent means of expressing our unconscious. It's a great hobby too! No pressure here, if the thought of picking up a brush leaves you cold, that is also fine!
It takes a commitment to change - we work as a team to help you make the changes that you want in your life. Weekly sessions enable you to work in a safe space, to reflect and to process what we discuss.
I am a member of the NCPS and work to their code of ethics.
Please ensure your email is typed correctly and include a telephone number.
Depression, fear, and anxiety are some of the most common and uncomfortable emotions that we can experience at some point in our lives. Through counselling I am able to help you recover motivation, perspective, and the joy that you once had in your life.
Many individuals can experience symptoms associated with painful and traumatic circumstances. Anxiety, fear, and hopelessness are a few emotions that can linger post traumatic events.
I can help you overcome these symptoms and guide you through the process of grief and healing. I describe my practice as 'trauma informed' as I have studied over 30 hours of CPD on the nature and effect of trauma on the mind and body.
I work remotely and 'live' at my clinic in Watford.
Now just one telephone number!
I work for one of the world's largest EAP providers and until recently had two numbers to facilitate this - now I have just one which is much easier for everyone to remember (including me!).
